R L Davies & Son Ltd - Industrial General - Bala, Firm fined £25k for electrocution

North Wales firm RL Davies and Son were fined £25,000 this week after a worker was electrocuted in Bala, Gwynedd in May 2004.
Miall Gwyn Roberts, 19, was killed in 2004 by 11,000 volts of electricity while laying concrete foundations when a boom hit an overhead cable.
His colleague Lee Humphreys was also electrocuted but escaped with minor injuries.
R L Davies & Son Ltd, from Colwyn Bay was fined £25,000 with £15,800 costs; and sub-contractors Permanent Flooring Ltd, of Bagillt, Flintshire, were fined £6,000 with £12,000 costs at Mold Crown Court.
The prosecution, by the Health and Safety Executive, was admitted.
