Rok Develoment - Industrial Development - Blandford, Successful Land Purchase For Rok Development
Date: 28 Jun 2007
Rok Development's Southampton team is celebrating after securing a significant land acquisition deal worth in excess of £1.5 million.
The three-acre site is strategically located on the popular Blandford Heights Industrial Estate at Blandford Forum and has immediate access to the A354 and A350 providing road links to Poole, Bournemouth, Salisbury and Dorchester.
Neighbour to household names such as Volvo, Ford and Tesco, and the last undeveloped section of land on the industrial estate, the site already has outline planning permission for industrial purposes. The construction of the new industrial units will begin in early 2008.
Andy Goodridge for Rok Development said: "I am delighted to have secured this well-located site in the heart of the busy market town of Blandford Forum.
"The surrounding industrial area is already very well-occupied and as such companies wishing to expand or relocate have a limited choice of accommodation.
"We aim to provide businesses with a choice. Our new, modern and bespoke units will be offered on a freehold or leasehold basis which can be tailored to meet the occupier's specific requirements."
Jerry Vigus, director for Lambert Smith Hampton, who acted for Rok Development, said: "Once again we are pleased to have acted on behalf of Rok Development in acquiring this site.
"Blandford Forum hasn't seen much in the way of new industrial or warehouse developments over the last few years. We are already in discussions with a number of local and regional companies who have already expressed an interest in the site".
Buildings at Blandford Heights will range from 1,500 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft and will be available on both a freehold and leasehold basis.
The land acquisition at Blandford Heights is the latest in a series of high profile projects for Rok Development's regional team. Those include the completion of The Links, a 65,000 sq ft office project at Solent Business Park, the letting and pre-sale of the 64,000 sq ft Swift Distribution Centre at Nursling for Sheffield Insulation Group and the new North European HQ for Coopervision at Segensworth totalling 150,000 sq ft of warehousing and office.
