Sustainable Spaces
ISG entered its own company headquarters into the Fit out award category, having relocated around 200 staff from three different London offices into one new central London Head Office in November 2006.
One of ISG's primary objectives was to maintain business continuity and produce an award-winning, environmentally aware space aligned to future business needs.
The BCO awards provide public recognition for excellence in office space nationally and regionally, recognising top quality design and functionality as a benchmark for excellence in the workplace.
The key criteria for each entry as a workplace is sustainability (socially, economically and environmentally), effectiveness as a place to do business and the degree to which others could benefit by adopting ideas from the project into future work.
Speaking of the awards, BCO Awards Chairman Mark Whitby says:
"A BCO Award is the gold standard of excellence. Particularly evident this year was a group of exceptionally low-energy buildings, exploiting a full range of technologies that are destined to become mainstream in the near future.
"The driving force of ISG's project was to centralise staff from several offices into an environment that was efficient, energetic and encouraged a strong team culture. ISG's layout shows vision, fluency and quality ? and all at a reasonable cost."
ISG's Chris Bock, who led the company's relocation, says of the awards:
"ISG depends on its people for business success so creating a working environment which encourages staff to reach their full potential was crucial to the success of this project.
"Winning these awards is a fantastic testament to the team's passion and commitment and we are particularly proud of the sustainable systems we have incorporated into the Fit-out of ISG headquarters, something which is critical for the company's group-wide commitment to sustainability.
"We are immensely proud that our New build, Refurbishment and Fit out divisions have all been recognised by the BCO. Overall this highlights our commitment to delivery, excellence, client satisfaction and a sustainable workforce."
