BPR Architects - General Development - Raynes Park, London
Date: 15 Jan 2008
Planning consent has been granted for Empyrean Rooftop Developments' two penthouses in Durham Close, Raynes Park. The combined value of the properties, which have been designed by BPR Architects, will be in excess of £1 million once completed in 2008.
The building at Durham Close is a 1930s structure built in Art Deco style and currently consists of 18 apartments over three floors. The penthouses will enhance and complement the existing features of the building and provide high quality three-bed accommodation.
Located on a complex site, the scheme overcomes a number of challenges including sustainability, respect for the existing architecture, the extension of existing services and minimal disturbance to existing tenants. To reduce the carbon footprint of the scheme and minimise disruption, off-site fabrication has been embraced to deliver the walls of the properties.
