Waystone - Mixed-Use Development - Stribro
Date: 30 Jan 2008
Leading developers and civil engineers Waystone, based in Yorkshire in the north of England, have signed an exclusivity agreement with Stribro Council to develop 40 hectares of land in the historic Czech Republic mining town.
The mixed-use development, which will feature business, residential and leisure facilities, will take place on a former garrison site. It will be drawn up in conjunction with the wishes of local residents and there will be a full consultation process.
Waystone, who have undertaken a number of similar and successful projects in England including the award-winning Glasshoughton development, will begin surveying the site shortly. The development will create a significant number of jobs both during construction and when it is finished.
Stuart McLoughlin, the managing director of Waystone, commented: "We are delighted to have been given preferred developer status and look forward very much to working with Stribro council in this very important regeneration project. This is a tremendous opportunity for us all.
"We are very conscious of the need to create a development which meets the needs of the people of Stribro and the surrounding region. We have a proven track record in successfully regenerating disused land and are confident that, together with Stribro Council and Stribro residents, we will create a development of which we can all be very proud".
