Atkinson Richards/Hurst Warne - General - UK

Date: 31 Jan 2008

Two of the best known surveying firms in the M3 and M25 markets, Atkinson Richards and Hurst Warne, have announced that they are to merge with immediate effect.

The enlarged firm will trade as Hurst Warne LLP with six partners and will operate from its existing offices in Fleet and Leatherhead, covering the key commercial property markets of Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and South West M25.

Atkinson Richards was formed in 1995 by Nick Atkinson and Peter Richards, whilst Hurst Warne was founded in 1978.

Peter Richards says: "The merger will create a niche commercial practice covering some of the most important business centres in central southern England. The enlarged firm will provide its clients with local knowledge, regional coverage and direct personal service at partnership level."

Maurice Johnson adds: "The synergies of skill and service between the two offices enable us to deliver clear benefit to our clients. We believe that the combined expertise of the enlarged firm will allow further expansion, both geographically and with new disciplines."

Hurst Warne's clients include: SEGRO, REEFF, Kenmore Property Group Terrace Hill, Brixton Estates and Land Securities. The firm has an existing management portfolio of properties around the UK worth over £450 million.
