Leeds £150M regeneration project, The Gateway welcomes it's first commercial letting of 2008 as independent hair salon, Hirst & Miller Hair Studio, opens its doors at the mixed use scheme.
Hirst & Miller Hair Studio has taken a 15 year lease on 1,000 sq ft ground floor space at £20 per sq ft in the stunning turquoise tiled building, Gateway West.
Stephen Holman, development director for the award winning 'best city centre development' said; "It's really pleasing that The Gateway is continuing to attract quality independent retailers such as coffee shop Aroma Leeds and now Hirst & Miller. The success of Accor's Etap Hotel and forthcoming letting to a national bar chain proves The Gateway's appeal is far reaching allowing us to create a unique and interesting scheme in the heart of the city."
Joint owners of Hirst & Miller, David Hirst and Dean Miller, saw The Gateway as the perfect venue to set up their first venture in the city, Dean said: "We chose to set up our first independent venture at The Gateway after being instantly impressed with the design and location of the whole scheme. This combined with potential footfall from the surrounding offices and apartments convinced David and I that we could create a prosperous business."
The four acre island development developed by Scotfield Ltd has seen phenomenal success in both is commercial and residential offerings since the completion of Phase One last year. The development's unique design and stunning turquoise tiling has created a new landmark on the cityscape of Leeds helping to attract key office, commercial and retail occupiers as well as residents to the 256 apartments.
