Jomast Developments - Offices Development - Dawdon

Date: 25 Feb 2008

Urban regeneration specialists, Jomast Developments, has announced plans to build phase two of its hugely successful business park at Dawdon, County Durham.

The Stockton-based developer has been granted full planning permission to construct a further 40,000sq ft of office and industrial space adjacent to its existing commercial development which has played an integral part in the town's regeneration and helped to attract plc's and multinational companies to the area.

The final phase of this multi-million pound development is likely to create several hundred new jobs both during and after the construction process, and work is due to commence later this year.

Plans outlined by Jomast Developments include a modern, four storey office building, several industrial units ranging from 2,500sq ft to 10,000sq ft, and studios for SME's. All will be available to lease as single or multiple occupancy units and include excellent parking and loading facilities.

Mark Hill, Commercial Property Portfolio Manager for Jomast Developments, commented, "With only two industrial units remaining on phase one, we are keen to progress to the next phase as soon as possible. This will commence after a programme of extensive ground works is complete.

"As well as several industrial units, one of the main features of phase two will be a modern, four storey office development with graduated roof offering great views of the coastline. This will be furnished to a very high standard and coupled with the excellent transport links surrounding the scheme, it is envisaged that the new premises will again be in high demand.

"The area has seen massive regeneration and inward investment over recent years, and our proposed plans will further boost economic growth and encourage commercial opportunities locally. More and more organisations are realising the benefits of locating to out-of-town business parks, and with the infrastructure that has been put in place, Dawdon is rapidly becoming a prime business location for companies across all sectors."

The latest firm due to take premises at the business park is Orbis Plc., a multinational organisation offering asset protection services to the void property market. Orbis employs 650 staff across Europe and has a turnover of circa £40milion.
