An industrial estate in Sheffield has seen an influx of companies as investor funding brings the site into the 21st century.
Cooperative Insurance Society Ltd has invested circa £2m of funding to provide significant refurbishment and upgrade to the outdated Tinsley Industrial Estate, which is in a coveted location with direct access to junction 34 of the M1 motorway.
The multi-million upgraded space has seen the expansion of existing companies such as William Beckett Plastics and Alliance Plastics into further units and new companies including Standall Tools relocate to the site.
Substantial improvements to the established 476,956 sq ft estate have been welcomed by existing tenants, counteracting years of under-investment to create occupier confidence.
Rebecca Schofield from Knight Frank's Sheffield office who are acting as agents on the project, said: "The radical changes to Tinsley Industrial Estate have channelled investment into tired buildings to provide 30 desirable business units offering unparalleled motorway access.
"What is interesting to see is that as well as incoming businesses seeking top notch industrial space in the Sheffield city region, existing tenants have leapt at the chance of taking upgraded units because the estate is well established and very well located.
"Accommodation is finished to a high standard to provide fully fitted office space, external yards and parking spaces, lighting to warehouse accommodation and full height roller shutter loading bay doors."
Tinsley Industrial Estate's location, fronting Greenland Road and Shepcote Lane, within minutes of the M1 motorway, opens up direct routes to other regional conurbations.
Rebecca added: "The intention for this site is to breathe new life into the overlooked units, feeding a healthy regional demand for commercial property, and to foster new landlord and tenant relationships moving forward.
