ISG Jackson Special Projects - Offices Development - Ipswich
Date: 28 Feb 2008
ISG Jackson Special Projects has commenced work on a £4 million commercial office development in the heart of Ipswich for developer Targetfollow. Occupying the site of a former car park on Princes Street, operated by the developer's parking division, RCP Parking, the new four-storey building will provide high specification office accommodation within this enviable town centre location.
The stylish new building, designed by Beanland Associate Architects, has already attracted a pre-let from a yet to be named Plc tenant, who will occupy the ground floor and part of the first floor. The remainder of the building, some 1,399 to 7,858 sq ft of floor space is already attracting keen interest from both regional and national organisations desiring a high profile commercial office location in Ipswich.
ISG Jackson Special Projects is currently forming the foundations for the four-storey concrete frame building, which will feature a range of architectural finishes to its façade, including brick, stone and zinc cladding. The large open plan floor office floor plate will be fitted out to a Cat A standard, with raised access floors, suspended ceilings and LG7-compliant lighting. The contractor will also form pleasant open terraced areas to the upper floors and the building will boast a video entry phone access system and adequate secure parking facilities, with the project scheduled for completion by early 2009.
Targetfollow development manager, James Smith, commented: "We're delighted to be pressing ahead with these high quality, modern offices, which will be a real asset to Ipswich, regenerating a central site and providing excellent accommodation for businesses. It's particularly exciting that a Plc tenant has already shown such confidence in Targetfollow and its ability to deliver first-class developments by pre-letting a significant part of the building."
Stuart Talbot, divisional director for ISG Jackson Special Projects, added: "There is significant demand for high quality, commercial office space within central Ipswich so it is not surprising that there has been such keen interest in this development. As an Ipswich-based business, ISG Jackson Special Projects has contributed much to the local built environment and we are delighted to be involved in this latest striking design within the town centre."
