CNP - Retail Development - UK
Date: 07 Mar 2008
Building surveying and project consultants CNP, has been appointed to project manage the roll out of nine new and refurbished Wyevale 'garden centres of the future' to be delivered over the next two years. A further ten potential sites have also been identified across the UK which could double the overall project.
The contract was awarded by LXB Properties, in conjunction with Wyevale Garden Centres plc, and is part of more than £500 million worth of projects that CNP is currently managing across the UK.
The next generation of Wyevale garden centres are being developed as visitor destinations attracting customers to spend several hours on site. For example the new 140,000 sq ft centre in Faversham, Kent, will boast a tree canopy walkway as well as restaurant, craft fair and other attractions.
These centres will make use of sustainable design features in their construction, such as glulam beams, ground source heat pumps and rainwater harvesting.
"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract," comments Jez Dyer, CNP's Head of Projects, "as it further underlines the increasing value that developers are placing on the expertise and capabilities of our Projects Team.
"Developers appreciate our independence and expertise knowing that they can outsource the delivery of projects to us, safe in the knowledge that our proven and structured approach, and our significant experience, will ensure that all projects are delivered to plan."
