Horbury Group - Offices Development - Rotherham

Date: 13 Mar 2008

A £5.5m Grade A office development in Rotherham is of such a high standard that its development company has decided to move in.

The Moorgate Crofts scheme is the latest of the Horbury Group's £17 million worth of projects in Moorgate and management at the Horbury Group have decided that, when complete, the landmark 32,000 sq. ft building is ideal to relocate into.

The office complex is on the re-claimed site of South Grove School at Moorgate and is one of Rotherham's most prestigious and striking commercial developments. The move will see Horbury Group leave nearby South Grove House and bring in other elements of the company.

Trevor Wragg, managing director of the Horbury Group, said: "We have reached the point where the Horbury Group has actually outgrown South Grove House and we want to consolidate slightly, so a move into Moorgate Crofts makes a lot of sense.

"Horbury Group is only taking a portion of Moorgate Crofts. The complex will provide managed accommodation and will be shared by numerous, different sized companies using flexible floor plans.

"Our current offices at South Grove House will also be vacated and that will free up what is some of the finest commercial space available in the country, with superb motorway links and offices fitted out to the best possible specification."

The Horbury Group, which was shortlisted for HSBC's Outstanding Business of the Year Award 2007 at the Sheffield Business Awards, has already built three office blocks at Moorgate, coupled with 16 luxury apartments, significantly lifting the economic potential of the district.

Other regional companies involved in the scheme include Sheffield-based architects Race Cottam, designers of the building and commercial property specialists Knight Frank, also from Sheffield, who continue to act as agents for the new offices.

Moorgate Crofts will be finished to the highest standard with dedicated meeting rooms, comfort cooling and wireless internet access. Standard specification also includes raised access computer flooring, suspended ceilings and a BREEAM rating of good.

The project has been supported by funding assistance from South Yorkshire's coveted ERDF Objective One Programme.

The Horbury Group has invested in an additional 28,000 sq. ft building close to the re-claimed South Grove School site, which is earmarked for residential redevelopment.
