Leading national timber firm Arnold Laver Timber World has promoted Stan Barrow to the position of executive director.

Stan, formally the company's UK Construction Industry Sales Manager, will now be responsible for developing and maintaining stronger links with larger construction companies and developers.

The 51 year-old will continue to be involved in Arnold Laver's contribution to the £6 billion 2012 Olympic Games construction programme.

Originally from Formby, Lancashire, Stan has a vast amount of experience in the timber industry spending 25 years at Firwood Timber selling to national construction companies and major civil engineering contractors.

Andrew Laver, Managing Director at Arnold Laver, said: "We are delighted that Stan will be moving to the position of Executive Director and wish him well in his new role. He has already brought the company a wealth of experience and we are confident he will continue to be a valuable acquisition to our ever growing and successful team."
