ISG Jackson - General Development - Essex
Date: 15 Apr 2008
ISG Jackson has secured its first project under an influential £400 million framework partnership with affordable homes provider, Swan Housing Group, to build new facilities across Essex and East London over the next four years. The contractor is due to commence work on a circa £3 million scheme at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, which sees the construction of 36, two bedroom flats on a brownfield site close to the centre of the town.
Prior to the commencement of construction work in Clacton-on-Sea, an extensive eight-week demolition programme will be carried out at the location to clear away a number of derelict outbuildings and a single dwelling that currently occupy the site. Work will then begin on the construction of the new three-storey building, which will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 environmental rating.
The brick built structure will feature a pitched tiled roof and has been designed to blend seamlessly with the local built environment. Ground floor flats will boast external patio areas, whilst the upper floor flats feature attractive juliet balconies. The grounds will be landscaped with hard and soft finishes and ISG Jackson will form a car park and bicycle storage area. The project is scheduled for completion by summer 2009.
Phillip Allerton, director of ISG Jackson's Living division, commented: "Several of our high profile framework partnerships are beginning to generate an excellent pipeline of quality opportunities for the business. We are confident that increasing public and private investment within this burgeoning market sector will provide further scope for ISG Jackson to demonstrate its high calibre industry credentials and enviable portfolio of successfully completed schemes."
