Patients in Rotherham are benefiting from the extension and refurbishment of their GP surgery in a £350,000 project designed by Sheffield architects Race Cottam Associates.

The Crown Street Surgery, Mexborough, now benefits from a new treatment room, four further consulting rooms and a general refurbishment.

Race Cottam architect Dennis Hooley said: "We are delighted to have been involved in the refurbishment of this advanced surgery which has delivered modern, comfortable additional space and facilities to meet the needs of patients and staff.

"The result is a design that reflects current thinking in the health care sector and confirms the practice's expertise in this area."

Race Cottam's experience in the health care sector includes major schemes for Sheffield's Northern General Hospital, the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Rotherham General Hospital and Nottingham Queen's Medical Centre Hospital.
