Date: 10 Jul 2008
Leading construction firm, the Horbury Group, is adding to its rapidly expanding portfolio with the launch of a new electrical contracting company.
Croft Electrical Engineering Ltd will provide a wide range of services including planned maintenance, facilities management, fire alarm systems, security systems, data systems, power and lighting and access control.
Operating throughout the UK from its brand new headquarters at Moorgate Crofts in Rotherham, the Horbury Group is now made up of nine separate companies providing a complete service to the construction industry from property development to main contractor to specialist subcontractor.
Trevor Wragg, managing director of the Horbury Group, said: "We are already well established in a number of areas including joinery, suspended ceilings, partitioning, dry lining and steel framed systems. This recent expansion adds another string to our bow as we look to expand what we can offer to the construction industry into the electrical market.
"With an experienced management team that has a reputation for its technical capability and high levels of service, Croft Electrical Engineering Ltd will add significant weight and value to both the Horbury Group and our client base alike."
Heading up the venture is David Cocker, from Doncaster, who has over 15 years experience in the electrical industry. Says David: "I have been aware of the Horbury Group for a while due to my previous role at another company so I am delighted to be teaming up with Trevor Wragg to deliver this new business.
"I hope to bring a customer-focused feel to the firm and see our real strength in developing relationships with our client base. Our long term aim for the Horbury Group is to offer a full installation package to the construction industry and we expect Croft Electrical to play a major part in this continued development of the Group."
The Rotherham-based Horbury Group, which formed in Sheffield in 1993 as Horbury Building Systems, has gone from strength-to-strength over recent years, increasing its turnover from £1.4m in its first year to £63m and now employing over 800 people nationally.
The nine companies which make up the Group are Horbury Building Systems Ltd, Horbury Estates Ltd, MWS Joinery Ltd, Titan Ceilings Ltd, Environ Safety Management Ltd, Drytech, Millstone Building Ltd, Magna Plant and Tool hire Ltd and Croft Electrical Engineering.
