Douglas Duff - Offices Development - Bedford, Priory Business Park
Date: 09 Mar 2001
New business premises are planned for Priory Business Park, Bedford, in a joint development by Wrenbridge Land and Bedford Borough Council. Known as Sentris, the development comprises two buildings: a high-profile Contact Centre and a traditional headquarters-style office building.
"Sentris will provide employment and much-needed office accommodation in the Bedford area" commented Andrew Clarke of agents Douglas Duff. "In the last two years, Bedford Borough Council has sold a number of plots for commercial development at Priory Business Park, and with the Southern by-pass A421 providing an A1/M1 link, this trend is likely to continue.
"The Borough Council has been seeking to attract new companies into the area, as well as offering the opportunity for established local companies to move out of the town centre to this prestigious site."
Knowing that Bedford provides a central UK location with excellent communications and lower rents than some parts of the South East, Wrenbridge Land took an option on 4.5 acres of land at Priory Business Park from Bedford Borough Council. Construction work on the first of the two new two-storey buildings is expected to start shortly, and the premises will be finished to a ‘shell and core’ specification to allow companies to fit out the accommodation to their own requirements.
"Sentris can accommodate companies requiring between 12,000 and 60,000 sq ft of call centre or office space, with the added advantage of extensive on-site car parking" added Andrew Clarke.
