Three new businesses have located to Newark's expanding Brunel Park, a prime 55 acre industrial estate being developed by Lincoln based developer, Lindsey Securities, strategically positioned adjacent to the A1 and its junction with the A46/A17 trunk road.

Howdens Joinery, the MFI subsidiary supplying building products to the trade, have taken occupation of a new 6,000 sq ft design and build depot on Brunel Drive and at nearby Telford Court, Plumb Center, part of Wolseley Centers has relocated its Newark operation into a 5,000 sq ft building. Segasby Design Consultancy has also taken 5,000 sq ft on Telford Drive as part of their expansion plan.

"This is good news for Newark as it demonstrates the confidence companies have in the area and the development in particular. The new lettings further
enhance the status of Brunel Park as the premier commercial location in Newark," said Lindsey director, Robin Taylor.

Howdens Joinery is the latest of 177 MFI trade outlets in the UK and has provided five new jobs. "We wanted a presence in Newark to compliment outlets at Lincoln and Grantham and Brunel Park offered the ideal location," said a Howdens Joinery spokesman.

Segasby Design Consultancy has seen growth of 100% year on year for the last two years and needed room to expand. "We also had to find space for our brand
new £26,000 machine investment which allows us to do all our own cutting, creasing and embossing in-house," said Peter Segasby, managing director.

"We are now able to increase efficiency by concentrating operations at a single site. The building design has been modified by Lindsey to suit our needs and is insulated to a very high standard," added Mr Segasby.

The new building provides room for further expansion and there is an option on a further 2500 sq ft unit which will accommodate planned expansion for the next 3 years.

Segasbys has created 4 new full time and part time jobs in the 3 months leading up to the move and plan to add another 6 by the end of the year. They now employ 15 full time staff plus 15 home workers.

The new businesses at Telford Court join Kerry Foods, Linco and Willsons Printers and A Plant relocated to Lindsey's new design and build premises last year.

"We are now in advance negotiations with a number of companies for new design and build premises and Phase 3 of Telford Court, which will comprise a further 13,000 sq ft, is due to commence on a speculative basis later in the year," said Mr Taylor.

There are now 20 freehold and leasehold businesses each occupying between 5,000 sq ft and 20,000 sq ft premises.
