Teesland Group plc - Offices Development - Leeds, 29 King Street
Date: 18 Oct 2001
Teesland Group plc ("Teesland") and Clerical Medical Investment Group ("Clerical Medical") have submitted a planning application for a major new office redevelopment at 29 King Street, Leeds to create 5760 sq m (62,010 sq ft) of Grade A modern office space.
29 King Street, formerly known as CMA House, will provide high quality office space over six floors, together with basement car parking at the junction of Park Place and King Street, one of the most prominent locations in Leeds city centre.
The proposed project will be constructed to a high specification with stunning glazed elevations, air conditioning and raised access floors. The façade of the building onto Park Place will be in sympathy with the traditional nature of the street, whilst the King Street frontage will have a striking glass façade. Each of the six floors will offer open plan space of approximately 929 sq m (10,000 sq ft).
Chesterton Leeds are acting as the sole letting agents for 29 King Street.
Mark Hancock, Director of Teesland Group said: "29 King Street represents one of the last major development opportunities in Leeds' traditional core, which is still short of high quality office space. We feel that our proposal will result in a dramatic building which will attract both the local and national marketplaces."
Jeff Pearey, Director of Business Space at Chesterton commented: "We are delighted to be involved with this superb building and feel that our clients have submitted a carefully constructed proposal to the planning authority. Clerical Medical and Teesland both have in-depth experience of developing high quality office properties; Teesland were responsible for the high acclaimed Princes Exchange completed just two years ago adjacent to City Square."
