Ryden - Offices Development - Hamilton Business Park, Bothwell House
Date: 24 Oct 2001
Councillor McEvoy will break the turf on Thursday the 25th of October, and signal the beginning of construction work on the 3 storey development at Hamilton Business Park.
Councillor McEvoy comments: "Bothwell House as a speculative new office development is a further statement of confidence in Hamilton as an attractive business location. Hamilton Business Park has already attracted such major companies as Thorn Lighting, Compass Services, Walker Snacks and Datacad as well as the new faculty buildings for Bell College.
I am delighted that Silverbank are now on site and wish them every success in this latest venture. I am confident that the building will attract strong occupier interest and look forward to re-visiting the completed development and welcoming new business and jobs to Hamilton."
Developers believe they are onto a winner with a speculative new office development on the fringe of Hamilton Racecourse in Lanarkshire. Ronnie McLetchie, spokesman for Glasgow based Silverbank (a joint venture between City Link Developments and Horizon Capital Limited), comments: "We are very confident that this development will attract interest from potential occupiers. As well as being ideally situated from an access point of view, the building will have spectacular views across the Racecourse to Strathclyde Country Park and beyond."
To be called Bothwell House, the 2,235 sq m (24,000 sq ft) corner building will provide a stunning focal point for the successful Hamilton Business Park which overlooks the famous Racecourse on Bothwell Road. The development will be serviced by 94 car parking spaces.
The site was chosen by Silverbank Development Company Limited for its excellent road and public transport links. It sits between Junctions 5 and 6 of the M74 motorway and is within walking distance of Hamilton Town Centre, Hamilton West Railway Station, the Town's Sheriff Court and the headquarters of South Lanarkshire Council.
Ewan Cameron of letting agents Ryden comments: "There is a limited supply of such large floorplate accommodation on Business Parks within the Glasgow area. The decision to proceed with the development of this prominent site is well-timed."
