Date: 13 Nov 2001
Hermes is pleased to announce the completion of the refurbishment and rebranding of the Marlands Shopping Centre, Southampton.
The rebranding programme was commenced in May of this year and included the design and presentation of a contemporary new image. A striking new "wave like" sign projecting the new logo has been introduced on Southampton's main street, Above Bar. In addition, the exterior of the building has been resigned and internally circulation improved between floors with a new escalator, better sight lines and enhanced natural lighting.
The refurbishment project has enabled the introduction of a new mall cafe which has been let to Delifrance.
Richard Low of Landlord Hermes comments, "Both tenants and shoppers have welcomed the improvements to the Marlands and the introduction of the striking new sign has strengthened our presence in the City. We continue to attract new names to the Centre and are delighted to welcome Delifrance in November. Last weeks promotions in the Centre, which launched the new brand, was extremely popular locally and we were delighted with the total footfall which was highest week on week for three years."
