Topland Group of Companies - Industrial Development - Thamesmead, Waldrist Way, Regional Distribution Centre

Date: 04 Feb 2002

Londis has started work on a £1.3 million building contract to upgrade its Regional Distribution Centre at Waldrist Way in Thamesmead. The contract will include the provision of a new separate staff car park, HGV loading areas, gatehouse and vehicle workshop.

The landlord, Riverland East Limited a part of the Topland Group of Companies, has acquired adjoining land to facilitate the works and will jointly fund the project with Londis. The lease will be restructured as part of the deal.

Steve Pope, Senior Asset Manager at Topland, comments:

"This transaction is a great example of how Topland are able to work in conjunction with major occupiers to reconfigure properties to meet operational requirements and restructure the existing leasing arrangements. Significant sums are available to fund further transactions."

Andrew Wallace, Finance Director at Londis said,

"Topland have been very proactive in bringing this scheme to fruition. It is refreshing to find a landlord who is prepared to understand our operational needs and work with us to create added value for both parties to the transaction."

Peter Taylor & Co advised Londis and Knights Cloutman will manage the project.
