London Clancy - Industrial Development - Nursling, Southern Cross

Date: 04 Jul 2002

The success of Slough Estate’s new warehouse and distribution development at Southern Cross, Nursling continues apace with a letting to Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust (SUHT).

Unit 140 is a detached building of 28,340 sq ft with fully specified offices and enclosed yard. Slough Estates have agreed a rent of £6.50 per sq ft on a lease of 15 years with a tenant only break at the 10th year.

SUHT will use Unit 140 as a central medical records library. The move will free up badly needed space at Southampton General Hospital for clinical services.

Paul McMahon, SUHT Project Manager is delighted with the move. McMahon says, “One of the reasons we chose Southern Cross was its location. We need round the clock access and with Southern Cross adjoining the M27 and M271 motorways we shall benefit from excellent road communications and not disturb residential neighbourhoods when we require someone’s medical record at 3am.”

“60% of Phase 100 has now been let following the deal with SUHT” says Claire Young, Leasing Manager at Slough Estates.
