Spacia - Offices Development - Bristol, St Philips, Victor Street
Date: 31 Jul 2002
Spacia, the UK's largest landlord for small businesses, has completed its third development scheme in Bristol.
The company has invested £250,000 building a production unit in Victor Street, in the St Philips area of Bristol, close to Temple Meads station. The development creates 3,400 sq ft (316 sq m) of new business space.
David Palmer, Portfolio Manager at Spacia comments: "We anticipate that the new development will appeal to a wide range of medium-sized production based companies seeking accessible accommodation close to the city centre. Strong interest has already been received from firms wishing to let the space."
The scheme at Victor Street is Spacia's third to be completed in Bristol following the development of a 8,400 sq ft (780 sq m) scheme at Silverthorne Lane - which is now fully let - and the recent refurbishment of eight railway arches creating 8,700 sq ft (821 sq m) of business space in Oxford Street, also close to Temple Meads station. Over half of the space at Oxford Street is now occupied by a diverse range of tenants including a baker, a personal fitness instructor and a CCTV installation contractor, with interest currently being shown in the remaining units by a range of businesses.
The additional business property for Bristol comes after research from Spacia earlier this year revealed that one in five small businesses were having difficulty finding accommodation in the west of England. Over half of respondents interviewed for the Property Monitor 2002 asked for more property near transport links to help alleviate the problem.
