Ryden - Offices Development - Edinburgh, Pentad
Date: 08 Aug 2002
Ryden are pleased to announce that The EDI Group Limited have started on site speculatively constructing the first phase of Pentad, their latest west Edinburgh office development.
Pentad will offer five principal office buildings, impressively designed around a central courtyard and separated by attractive individually landscaped gardens. Each building will be distinct and self contained, albeit the overall concept will be of a single structure converging to a focal point - the Pentad Hub.
The total development will comprise approximately 17,187 sq m (185,000 sq ft) of high quality, open plan offices, together with 462.2 sq m (4,974 sq ft) of retail/leisure space. The first phase, which will be completed by Spring 2003, will comprise the entire retail element of the scheme on the ground floor of the Hub. This can be sub-divided into four units from 50.1 sq m (539 sq ft). The first floor of the Hub will offer an office suite of 478.4 sq m (5,150 sq ft).
The main office building in Phase One will provide 2,257 sq m (24,300 sq ft) of open plan offices over three floors in suites from 752.5 sq m (8,100 sq ft).
The buildings will be finished to an exceptionally high standard, incorporating strong use of cedar panelling and coloured render, while internally offering the quality of accommodation expected by a modern office occupier.
Allan Matthews, Associate with Ryden, commented, “We are very excited to be involved with this project. West Edinburgh is widely recognised as the city’s premier out of town business address and we are confident the calibre of this scheme will prove extremely popular with organisations.”
Craig Watson, Associate with Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker, joint letting agents with Ryden, added “The architects, Page & Park have created something different from other business parks in the area. While the focus is to create high quality open plan office accommodation, careful consideration has been given to the overall environment, creating extensive soft landscaping, ‘people places’ and separation of the car parking from the buildings.”
Ryden and Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker are the joint agents for the scheme.
