Saltire Developments Ltd is to develop a new 75 acre distribution park located at Newhouse, Lanarkshire, overlooking the M8 by Junction 6 which is expected to create 1500 jobs on completion.

Linkpark will be a high quality distribution park built over 2 phases. Its prime location, one mile from Mossend Railfreight Terminal providing direct access to Europe, and resting in the heart of Scotland's road network with Glasgow and Edinburgh a 30 minutes' drive, provides excellent access for companies seeking a major Scottish distribution outlet. The Park is also surrounded by a wealth of support business facilities including a golf course, conference venue and restaurant.

Phase I will offer clear development sites allowing building development ranging from 3,000 sq m (30,000 sq ft) up to major distribution hubs of 30,000 sq m (300,000 sq ft).

Phase II will extend to 16 acres and includes planning permission for a 150 bedroom hotel and leisure facility plus additional Class 4 business space.

Saltire Developments have now committed some £1.5m in infrastructure roadworks including the upgrading of an existing roundabout and creating a further
mini-roundabout. The initial phase of infrastructure works is due for completion in early November 2002.
